How to add video messages to your purchase

The new Viidit technology allows you to add video messages to flower arrangements, whether they are standard bouquets or customized arrangements.

There are several starting points for including a video message, these can be:

  1. Banner featured on homepage
  2. Products including video message
  3. Customization tool
  4. Shopping cart

Below we will describe each case.

A. Adding a video message from the banner featured on the homepage

On the homepage of the store, there is an eye-catching banner that invites you to "create your video message" (regardless of whether you have ordered a product or not).

Clicking on this banner brings up a central window with options to record a video from your webcam or use a video file stored in your computer.

a.1 Record a video from your webcam
When using this option the system will prompt you to "allow" the use of your webcam. Once that’s done a “Record” button will appear. Once you press the button you will have 3 seconds to begin recording. This time is indicated by a red bar and an audible countdown. You can record messages for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 30 seconds, and can stop recording at any given time by clicking the “Stop Recording” button located in the lower bar. Once the video is recorded, the system offers three options: use the video ("Use this video"), show preview ("Preview"), or record again ("Re-Record"). If you choose to use the video, a message will appear indicating that your video has been processed and is ready to use. Afterwards, the products you can attach your video message to will be displayed so that you may continue with the normal purchasing process.

a.2 Use a video from the files stored in your computer
When using this option a "Select video from my computer" button will appear. Select the stored file from your computer (the file must be less than 20 MB and must not exceed 30 seconds). Once the file has been chosen, a progress bar will appear indicating that the video is "uploading". (It also gives you the option to cancel the upload process-"Cancel upload"- and to select the file again). Once the video has been processed, the system will give you three options: use the video ("Use this video"), show preview ("Preview"), and upload again ("Upload again"). If you choose to use the video, a message will appear indicating that your video has been processed and is ready to use. At that time you will be shown the products which can be attached to this video message and will be able to continue with the normal purchasing process.

B. Products including video message

While navigating through the store you will see that products that have the option of adding a video message are identified with a special icon. Once those products have been purchased, you can add a video message by pressing the corresponding banner in the configuration box. Once you hit the button, a central window appears with the options to record a video from your webcam or use a video file stored in your computer. This process continues in the same way as explained in point a.1 and a.2.

C. Customization tool

If you choose to customize your bouquet through the personalization application, you will notice that one of the options (configuration tabs) corresponds to "Video". By clicking the video tab a button will appear, and when the button is pressed a central window will appear with options to record a video from your webcam or use a video file stored in your computer. This process continues in the same way as explained in point a.1 and a.2.

D. Shopping cart

Once you have added your product to the shopping cart or while reviewing the contents of your shopping cart, you will notice a special icon indicating that your product has the option of adding a video message. When you press the indicated link a central window will appear, giving you the option to record a video from your webcam or use a video file stored in your computer. This process continues in the same way as explained in point a.1 and a.2.


I received a rose containing a video message. How do I access the video?

If you have received a Speaking Roses product including a video message, a rose (white) in the bouquet will be imprinted with a special symbol along with an instruction card.

To access the message you must log onto the website named in the instruction card; then you will click on the “view my video message” link. There you will type in your video code (made up of 5 characters, included with your product).

Once the code has been submitted and you have clicked on “watch my video”, a window will appear asking for permission to use your webcam – click “allow”. When the webcam is ready, you must take the rose with the imprinted symbol and place it directly in front of the camera lens; your message will begin playing immediately.

Note: if you do not have a webcam you will still be able to click on the “view my video message” link.
